We are a non-political, non-religious and not-for-profit NGO that started out on August 31, 2010. Our name has its origin in the word “VEERANGNA” (वीरांगना), which in Hindu mythology, was used to describe valiant female warriors, who fought bravely on battlefields. We call ourselves ‘Veerangnayen’ because our team members, armed with education, self-reliance and resilience, have become truly inspiring changemakers. Our name also highlights our dedication towards empowering more women to become ‘Veerangnayen’ (translation: warriors).
The primary aim of the Youth Veerangnayen is to equip women with knowledge and skill to be financially independent and have a voice in decision-making in their family and society in general. This was meant to be achieved by providing knowledge, education, vocational training, skill development, counselling, and indispensable appliances to the deprived, to enable them to live a dignified life. The Youth Veerangnayen is a group of young women who crusade against social evils by organizing rallies, seminars, de-addiction camps, etc. We run skill development centers in semi-urban areas for vocational training for the underprivileged. We also aim at creating awareness amongst people and women in particular, about leading a healthy lifestyle through our communication and demonstrations at the grassroots.
The volunteers of Youth Veerangnayen are a group of talented and experienced doctors, engineers, principals, teachers, and intellectuals, who are experts in their respective fields and are supported by enthusiastic staff who are a breath of freshness in the whole program. We provide vocational skills to deprived women to enable them to stand on their own feet. These women are trained at our stitching centers, computer centers, and centers for training in beauty and make-up. With the co-operation of locals, government support functions, we have designed a plan and committed to innovative solutions that drive true change. We take tiny steps but we move with strong determination and take a responsible risk to benefit the maximum number of girls and women.
